When the clock strikes midnight, it makes me see that our dance has wrapped its vines and sown its seed
Bequeath my love, bequeath my time, and set you apart. For in your eyes there is no dark, just rumours of light
Show me your heart lovely, show me the ghost that you received, you're in your prime darling, but you take all time you need
The challenge of this night, is to find, what to say. Beyond this cold moonlight, to be mine, everyday.
You're not a trophy or a prize to own, no no you're a gift my love. So in your time we'll drink this wine to the lees of life
Show me your heart lovely, show me the ghost that you received, you're in your prime darling, but you take all time you need
And I will wait for thee, for time shall make a man of me. Come here and make a man of me.
For love is good and love is free.

A toast to the powers that be, the wall to the voices unheard.
To whom prayers fall empty, that make allowance for the absurd. You clutch at straws make some laws and alibis. And strip truth to the bone. Do I protest now or fall in line, or am I all alone?
Floruecent greed, incessent need, more than we could ever know. Written on our hearts our TV screens, our shame put on show. There's no karma there's nothing worth killing for, I'm not getting what I deserve. Set free with a plea to the only one who mends me, but really I don't belong.
I don't belong, yeah I don't belong, and I can't shake this feeling. That I don't belong, yeah I don't belong, and it's what keeps me kneeling, cos I don't belong yeah I don't belong, and it's my fate I'm sealing, I don't belong
Cos I don't belong with all the fumes and the fuss, no I don't belong to a world that has gone astray and does what it must to get along. Though I'm no model child, for sacrifice and self-denial, I still don't belong here, I don't belong here, so take me home.
Cos I don't belong with all the fumes and the fuss, no I don't belong to a world that has gone astray and does what it must to get along. Yeah I don't belong with all the ruin and rust, no I don't belong, yeah I don't belong, so take me home.

As we make our laments, your face seems so cold
With feet like cement, frozen ice in those bones
I'm in awe of your debts, I've made them my own
Mistakes and regrets, I'll carry them all
And I'll never do, and I'll never be, what you need the most and what you fail to see
I'll never be your forever
If you prick me I'll bleed
Cos there's gotta be something underneath, there's gotta be something to believe
There's gotta be something more than you and me
So we'll wait, patiently
You remind me of when, I wasn't so old. Before the pretense had taken its hold
And I'm taking your hand, and I won't let it go, and I'll show you the things that heaven's made known
And it'll never do, it'll never seem. Life's not a matinee on your silver screen.
I'll never be your forever
If you prick me I'll bleed
Cos there's gotta be something underneath, there's gotta be something to believe
There's gotta be something more than you and me
Like the rain that falls on my port of call, dampening what lies beneath. Like the bumblebees and the seven seas, orchestras of our release. Like the seeds of blame on a shallow grave, a flicker that fans to flame. Like the winds of change and a turn of phrase I'll be gone I'll be gone I'll be gone I'll be gone

The Great Divide

Even I gained the whole world, what if I lost my only soul? For pleasure and power's no prize to throw, or so I'm told.
For what's a soul to one who lies, who cheats and steals and wastes his life. Searching for what can't satisfy.
Even if I was the only man alive, would you still have died? And if even I could drain the oceans dry to bridge this great divide. Would you come down would you tell me why, I am worth the price. Worth your price.
What is this debt which I now owe, what is this grace that you bestow? A crimson heart now white as snow, or so I'm told.
Cos who are you to save my life, and who are you to let me die? Nailed with thieves on either side.
Even if I was the only man alive, would you still have died? And if even I could drain the oceans dry to bridge this great divide. Would you come down would you tell me why, I am worth the price. Worth your price.

When one thing leads to another, you can stand on me brother. When one thing leads us astray, it's okay.
The good Lord has taken our mother, but we can lean on each other. Our tragedy to discover, we're okay. We're okay
Pain bears a message, let's hear what it has to say "Your tears and regrets are mine the signs of yesterday". And from these ashes, we'll rise again some other day. Make me an asset. Make me your own and show the way.
Cos I don't know about you, but I'd be a fool for love. A slave for all that is true, a martyr for hope and trust.
So when we depart from each other, and have taken our lovers. You can still lean on me brother, it's okay. It's okay.
Pain bears a message, let's hear what it has to say "Your tears and regrets are mine the signs of yesterday". And from these ashes, we'll rise again some other day. Make me an asset. Make me your own and show the way.
Forget not our fathers who gave their lives, for sons and daughters to prophesy. Our faithful mothers with prayers on high, their sons and daughters shall prophesy.
Oh mothers and fathers now die with pride, your sons and daughters will prophesy.
